What is Spinal Flow?

Spinal Flow is a therapeutic approach rooted in the science of stress and its effects on the body and nervous system. In our fast-paced lives, stress—whether chemical, physical, or emotional—can accumulate, leading to spinal blockages that disrupt nervous system function. This disruption can result in chronic health issues, pain, and illness. Our bodies are naturally equipped to heal, and Spinal Flow offers a gentle, safe technique designed to release stress and restore balance. By targeting specific access points along the spine, Spinal Flow practitioners stimulate the body’s innate healing processes, promoting optimal health. Clinical studies have shown that the Spinal Flow Technique effectively transitions the body from chronic dysfunction to a state of well-being. By reducing layers of stress and clearing spinal blockages, it revitalizes nervous system flow, alleviating chronic symptoms and enhancing overall health.

What are access points?

Access points are essential to the Spinal Flow Technique, with 33 specific locations along the spine that connect directly to our nervous system. These points are located on the sacrum, tailbone, and cranium, playing a crucial role in the healing process. Surrounding the brain and spinal cord is a protective membrane called the meninges. When a Spinal Flow Practitioner gently touches an access point, they create a direct connection with this membrane. This interaction facilitates communication with the nervous system and brain, initiating healing by stimulating the flow of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) along the spine, often referred to as 'spinal flow.' Each contact made at these access points enhances the body’s ease, improves CSF flow, reduces spinal blockages, and alleviates layers of accumulated chemical, physical, and emotional stress. These combined effects support the body’s natural ability to heal from chronic symptoms. Explore how the Spinal Flow Technique can help you release stress and enhance your overall health today!

What are the 7 Gateways to the Spine?

In the Spinal Flow Technique, we categorize the spine into seven distinct sections known as "Gateways." This division serves as a roadmap for healing, providing valuable insights into the body's function and health. Each Gateway aligns with specific body regions and the associated nerve supply, facilitating communication throughout the nervous system. Additionally, each Gateway is linked to emotional feelings, as our bodies constantly communicate through sensations and emotions. This comprehensive chart illustrates the emotional experiences related to spinal blockages and the physical symptoms that may manifest. While the chart highlights common health symptoms associated with spinal blockages, it’s important to note that it is not exhaustive. When spinal blockages occur within these seven Gateways, they disrupt the body's function and hinder its natural healing abilities. As Spinal Flow treatment reduces these blockages, the body can move toward improved health and well-being.

What are spinal blockages?

A spinal blockage occurs when the body becomes overwhelmed by three primary stressors: emotional, chemical, and physical stress. When stress isn't effectively processed, it accumulates in the body, especially in the spine, leading to a spinal blockage. Similar to a 'subluxation,' a spinal blockage refers to a vertebra that is misaligned, tight, or stuck, disrupting the normal alignment of the spine. Each spinal blockage impedes the proper flow of the nervous system along the spine. As a result, communication between the nervous system and the body’s cells, tissues, muscles, and organs diminishes. This disruption can trigger chronic health issues, pain, and various illnesses. The Spinal Flow Technique offers a solution by targeting and removing spinal blockages, helping the body restore its natural healing processes.

What is the "spinal flow"?

Every individual has a unique spinal flow within their spine, referring to the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) that naturally circulates within the protective membrane surrounding the brain, spinal column, and nervous system. Ideally, this flow should be continuous, originating from the sacrum and ascending the spinal column to the skull in a harmonious, wave-like motion. The CSF is essential for overall well-being, as any disruption caused by spinal blockages can lead to various health issues. Vital for the health and functioning of the nervous system, your spinal flow acts as the body’s internal healing mechanism. With the Spinal Flow Technique, our goal is to enhance this vital flow. The greater the flow within your spine, the greater your body’s capacity for healing.

What to expect during your first appointment?

At your initial Spinal Flow appointment, you will start with a thorough health consultation. Your Spinal Flow Practitioner will listen carefully to your concerns and the reasons you are seeking treatment. After the consultation, your practitioner will assess your spine through a series of simple movements to evaluate its range of motion and check your posture for signs of spinal blockages. Next, you'll lie face down on the clinic table while your practitioner gently palpates and examines your spine to pinpoint the locations of any spinal blockages. Postural photos will also be taken to serve as a reference for tracking your progress throughout your healing journey. You and your practitioner will then discuss a personalized treatment plan tailored to your symptoms and the severity of your spinal blockages. Together, you will create the best course of action to help you feel better as quickly as possible. Once the health assessment is complete, you will have your first Spinal Flow healing session.

The strength of Spinal Flow lies in its gentle approach, which aligns with the body's natural healing processes. Instead of applying external forces, Spinal Flow practitioners collaborate with the body to guide it toward optimal health. What to expect during a Spinal Flow Healing session

Spinal Flow healing sessions are conducted with clients fully clothed, ensuring comfort and relaxation throughout the experience. Each session is tailored to the individual, resulting in a unique experience that evolves as the body undergoes changes and the nervous system starts to function more effectively. It's important to note that not everyone experiences noticeable movements during their sessions. While many social media videos showcase clients demonstrating significant movement in their spines, this is not representative of every individual's experience. Some clients may have a full spinal wave, while others may not exhibit visible movements. These videos are primarily intended to illustrate the concept of Spinal Flow, but much of the healing occurs internally and may not be outwardly visible. Each person has their own unique flow, and Spinal Flow is fundamentally a treatment-based healing modality aimed at addressing health issues, rather than a performance or visual experience. Responses to Spinal Flow sessions can vary widely; some clients may feel a strong movement flow, while others may not feel as much, yet both are experiencing healing. During sessions, clients may notice various sensations such as vibrations, tingling, or warmth in their spines. Emotional releases, such as laughter or tears, can also occur, alongside muscle contractions or other bodily sensations. Conversely, some individuals may feel less sensation, which is simply their body’s way of processing healing. It’s crucial to understand that there is no “right” or “wrong” way to experience a Spinal Flow session. The presence or absence of movement or sensation does not determine the effectiveness of the healing. Every body heals differently, and that’s completely normal. Clients are encouraged to connect authentically with their bodies during the sessions. The primary goal of Spinal Flow is to harmonize the brain and nervous system while enhancing spinal flow, facilitating the body’s natural healing processes. Whether clients experience noticeable physical movements or engage in deeper internal processing, the consistent outcome of Spinal Flow healing sessions is the reduction of stress layers, alleviation of spinal blockages, and an overall enhancement of health and well-being.

How many sessions will it take to heal?

The duration and progress of healing through Spinal Flow can be complex and vary widely based on several factors. Key elements influencing healing include the reasons for seeking treatment, the severity of symptoms, the current state of the nervous system, life stress levels, and individual responses to healing sessions. Healing timelines are unique for each person, and most individuals will benefit from multiple sessions over time to see meaningful results. Every positive change, no matter how small, signifies progress. This can include reduced symptoms, fewer spinal blockages, improved flow, or shifts in chemical, physical, and emotional stress within the body. It’s crucial to recognize that healing is a personal journey that unfolds differently for everyone. A commitment to health plays a significant role in this process. Having frequent sessions spaced closely together can enhance the healing experience, allowing for faster progress toward optimal health and well-being. To support this journey, we approach treatment in three distinct phases: Intensive Care Phase Wellness Phase Maintenance Phase Remember, Spinal Flow is not a quick fix. Healing from years, or even decades, of accumulated stress and chronic health issues requires time and dedication. While you may not achieve complete healing after just a few sessions, many clients report improvements such as better stress management, improved sleep, enhanced mood, reduced anxiety and depression, better posture, and increased flexibility in their spine. Keep in mind that it has likely taken years for your body to reach its current state, and reversing these effects will also take time. Everyone's healing journey is different; some may progress quickly, while others may need more time. Patience is key as we allow the body to address its healing needs. Additionally, the more consistently you attend your healing sessions, the quicker your body can move toward full health.

Important: What to wear during Spinal Flow healing session

Choosing the right clothing is crucial for a successful Spinal Flow healing session. Wearing inappropriate attire can hinder access to key points and affect the flow assessment. What to Wear: Spinal Flow sessions are conducted with clients fully clothed. For the best experience, please opt for soft, loose-fitting pants (or shorts), a comfortable t-shirt (or long sleeve), and socks. Recommended Attire: Light t-shirts or long-sleeve tops Casual pants like pajama bottoms, sweatpants, or loose workout shorts Ensure clothing is not tight or form-fitting What to Avoid: Heavy fabrics like jeans, khakis, or corduroy Pants or shorts with thick seams, especially around the pelvis or tailbone area High-collar shirts, oversized sweatshirts, hoodies, or sweaters (you should wear a t-shirt underneath) Clothing with stripes or bold patterns; plain colors are preferred For Women: Avoid shapewear or spandex If wearing thong underwear, ensure it is smooth without lace or texture No tight or form-fitting pants, including leggings Additionally, if you have long hair, please tie it back in a ponytail. This allows for better monitoring of spinal blockages in the neck area. Remember to bring a hair tie if needed. Failure to follow these clothing guidelines may necessitate rescheduling your appointment. Your cooperation is appreciated and helps ensure a successful healing session. Thank you for your understanding!

What to expect after a healing session?

During and after a Spinal Flow healing session, your body experiences significant changes, even if they aren't immediately apparent. It's important to recognize that you might notice an increase in symptoms as your nervous system adjusts and begins to heal, sometimes for the first time in years. As we work to alleviate spinal blockages, enhance the flow, and soothe the nervous system, your body is undergoing adaptation and transformation. Some clients may experience temporary side effects, which can include increased pain, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, chills, nausea, diarrhea, or flu-like symptoms. While not everyone will encounter these effects, if you do, it's essential to understand that they are typically short-lived and reflect the healing process taking place in your body. It's important not to feel discouraged by any temporary increases in symptoms following a session. These side effects occur because clearing spinal blockages allows the nervous system to function properly again, reaching areas that may have been lacking adequate flow for a long time. As these nerves reactivate and begin receiving proper communication, you may feel sensations related to this process. If you experience any side effects, please listen to your body by getting sufficient water, rest, and healthy nourishment.
